Local Search Marketing
Recently the major search engines have started to include “local” listings in the main results seen by users as they query keywords. Sometimes these results include maps, other times the search engine recognizes the IP address of the user and serves up results relevant to the geographic location of the searcher.
The date the search engines for these listings comes from a variety of sources, including online yellow pages, source tags called “microformats” placed on sites, links from other sites and other esoteric sources. These diverse data sources represent a departure from how the search engines gather data for their “traditional” results. Therefore, we have created a separate process for local search engine optimization that includes the following steps:
- Research presence and accuracy of listings in all applicable data sources
- Creation of “microformats” for each applicable page of the site
- Monitoring local listings from different IP addresses to insure maximum visibility
- Optimization of the “Local Business Listing” in all major search engines
- Strategic plan to solicit additional positive business reviews in major and vertical search engines………………………….. more

horrible…. I’m a died in the wool Packer!!! I live in Michigan and proudly wear the green and yellow. The Lions are the worst team in the NFL and they already wear blue… why would you change a good thing, everyone loves Packer colors, lets not go backwards… keep the green and yellow… it is the best and most unique in the NFL… not all change is good… I drive to Wisconsin twice a year and always go to Packer stadium to buy apparal for myself and my grandson, we have lots of green and yellow… I well not buy blue….
